About

Hi there — I’m Jennifer, a Respiratory Therapist with over 19 years of experience helping patients breathe easier and supporting healthcare teams in high-acuity settings. My journey in respiratory care has taken me through the Adult and Neonatal Intensive Care Units, and I’ve also had the privilege of gaining valuable experience in the Pediatric ICU.

I’ve spent much of my career working in Level One Trauma Centers, where every day brings new challenges and learning opportunities. Over time, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for both the art and science of respiratory care — from the precision of ventilator management to the compassion it takes to support patients and families through critical moments.

Along with bedside care, I’m passionate about education and mentorship. I currently teach Fundamentals of Critical Care to physicians, helping new providers understand the vital role of the respiratory system in overall patient management.

This blog, Respiratory Toolbox, is my way of sharing what I’ve learned over the years — clinical pearls, practical tools, and real-world tips for fellow respiratory therapists and healthcare professionals. Whether you’re a new grad, a seasoned RT, or someone just curious about the field, I hope you find this space informative, supportive, and inspiring.

Breathing is fundamental — understanding it is powerful.
Welcome to my world of respiratory care.
